Every two years, the IEDTA (International Experiential Dynamic Therapies Association) hosts and international conference, and each conference alternates between Europe and North America. The last IEDTA conference was held in Washington DC in Summer 2014. Prior conferences have been held in Oxford, England, Vancouver, Canada (2010), Aarhus Denmark (2007), Los Angeles, USA (2005), Amsterdam, Netherlands (2003).
The location for the 2016 IEDTA conference has yet to be determined. For information on past conferences, please see the IEDTA website at www.iedta.net.

After the bi-annual international conferences, local ISTDP groups will often create an opportunity for further study in a more intimate and spectacular setting. Previous and recent Summer Schools have been held in The Lake District, UK; Whistler, Canada; Tuscany Italy; Tsvildelejere, Denmark; and Antigua. The Washington School of Psychiatry hosts an annual Summer School in Syriah Virginia.
